Educational Grape Harvest: Grape Picking at Crypta Castagnara

An immersive educational journey that combines learning with the discovery of the local area.

At the Crypta Castagnara estate in Grottolella, students are invited to play an active role in the grape harvest. This experience transforms the vineyard into an open-air classroom where botanical theory meets agricultural practice. By actively participating in the harvest, the students gain an understanding of the importance of timing, plant care, and the transformation of the earth’s produce.

Direct contact with the vineyard rows and learning manual harvesting techniques offer valuable insights into the local agricultural economy and the traditions that define Irpinia’s identity. It is an occasion for sharing and celebration that allows for the rediscovery of the profound bond between people and the wine-growing landscape, honoring an excellence that has made this region world-renowned.
