In recent years, Irpinia has undertaken a concrete and structured journey to establish itself as an international destination for weddings and authentic experiences. This is not a simple promotional effort, but a strategy built over time, based on relationships, vision, and organizational skills. The “Irpinia Wedding Destination” project was born from the synergy between Info Irpinia and wedding planner Vittoria Belmonte, a collaboration begun in 2019 that combined local expertise and an international vision with a specific goal: to transform weddings into a tool for regional development.

At the heart of it all was a clear realization: Irpinia possesses everything the international market seeks today—authenticity, pristine landscapes, vibrant villages, traditions, and quality food and wine—but it wasn’t being presented through a strategic vision. From here, the idea of developing a project capable of transforming these resources into a structured and competitive tourism product was born.

Fam Trips as a strategic development tool

At the heart of this journey are Fam Trips, experiential trips aimed at national and international wedding planners and tour operators. Not just tours, but immersive experiences designed to allow guests to experience Irpinia authentically, engaging in direct contact with the venues, suppliers, and local communities. The goal is not just to promote, but to build relationships. To ensure that those who visit fall in love with the area and choose to recommend it to their couples. It’s a model that combines experience and commercial strategy, and one that has proven its effectiveness over the years.

The first Fam Trip in Irpinia: the birth of a shared vision

The first Fam Trip, held in April 2024 thanks to the support and hospitality of Torre in Pietra, represented the founding moment of the entire project. In an area still outside the international wedding circuit, this experience had the most important task: to test Irpinia’s potential in the field. The first foreign wedding planners experienced an authentic journey through villages, castles, historic homes, and local traditions, struck not only by the beauty of the places, but above all by the region’s strong, unconstructed identity.

It was precisely at this stage that a crucial realization emerged: Irpinia shouldn’t imitate other, more well-known destinations, but rather enhance its authenticity as a distinctive element. Not artificial settings, but real experiences. Not copied models, but an identity to be organized and made accessible. This is where the shared vision between Info Irpinia and Vittoria Belmonte came from, shaping the project.

The second Fam Trip in Irpinia: international positioning

The second Fam Trip, held from November 3 to 7, 2024, in collaboration with the partner “Casa Reale” of Sturno, marked the transition from an exploratory phase to a positioning phase together with . Fifteen wedding planners from Europe, America, and other international markets enjoyed a structured experience, visiting some of the region’s most iconic locations and experiencing an increasingly robust organization.

The days included visits, tastings, and opportunities for discussion, culminating in a gala evening that fostered direct dialogue between local operators and international professionals. At this stage, Irpinia began to be perceived not only as a fascinating place, but as a credible destination, capable of hosting complex events and offering a complete experience.

The third Fam Trip in Irpinia: building the system

With the third Fam Trip, once again organized in collaboration with “Casa Reale” of Sturno, the project has reached a higher level of maturity. The experience has been enriched with content and relationships, involving wedding planners and tour operators in a journey that has combined beauty, hospitality, and organization. The villages, historic homes, and food and wine excellences have become part of a coherent narrative, while direct dialogue between operators has begun to generate concrete opportunities.

The key moment was the B2B and the gala evening, where Irpinia demonstrated its ability to function as a system. During this phase, the network between businesses, suppliers, and institutions was strengthened, a key element in building a true destination.

The fourth Fam Trip in Irpinia: from promotion to development

The fourth Fam Trip marked the definitive transition from promotion to market building. The experience was designed even more strategically, with a clear focus on creating operational connections. The stops showcased Irpinia in all its facets, from the spirituality of the Loreto Abbey Palace to the contemporary hospitality of the Green Park Hotel, the dramatic beauty of Lancellotti Castle, and the immersive experience of Tenuta Ippocrate, where guests could experience a complete wedding simulation.

This is where the B2B discussions, the heart of the entire Fam Trip, took place, allowing direct contact between local suppliers and international operators. The journey concluded in Borgo San Gregorio, where wine and hospitality conveyed the region’s deepest identity. In this edition, the project has taken on a concrete, structured, and measurable dimension.

The Results: From Relationships to First International Weddings

The most significant result of this journey came on September 21, 2025, with the realization of the first international wedding in Irpinia at “Le Conche Country House” in Villamaina, celebrated by a couple from Cyprus. This milestone marks the transition from vision to reality.

In addition, there are two weddings already scheduled for 2026, with couples from Brazil and Seattle, as well as a growing number of requests from international wedding planners. The impact of these events goes beyond the wedding day: they involve stays that last several days and involve villages, accommodations, restaurants, wineries, and artisans, generating a widespread economy and creating value for the entire region.

The role of institutions and territories

A project of this magnitude cannot develop without the support of institutions and local communities. A special thanks goes to the Campania Region, which believed in the project through the FUNT Program, supporting an organized and results-oriented territorial promotion model.

Our entire network of local partners was crucial, as was the initial contribution of Gal Irpinia, Cesvolab Irpinia Sannio, and the first municipalities that joined with vision and courage, including Greci, Zungoli, Bisaccia, Lapio, and Montecalvo Irpino, who immediately recognized the potential of this initiative and helped lay the foundations for the project.

A development model for Irpinia

The “Irpinia Wedding” project Destination” today represents a model of territorial development based on collaboration. Weddings become an experience that engages the entire community and transforms the region into an integrated system, where each player contributes to the overall quality of the offering.

Couples don’t just choose a location; they enjoy an immersive experience built on traditions, relationships, and authenticity. It is precisely this dimension that makes Irpinia competitive, without distorting its identity.

A destination ready

The path undertaken demonstrates that, when vision and efficiency meet, even lesser-known territories can establish themselves on an international scale. Fam Trips have built relationships, generated opportunities, and transformed insights into concrete results.

Today, Irpinia is no longer a promise. It’s a destination that is chosen, experienced, and talked about around the world.
